AAFP Renamed Justitia Foundation
The American Association of Forensic Professionals, Inc. has officially rebranded itself as the Justitia Foundation, Inc. This change reflects our evolving mission, goals, and the scope of our training programs. As we move forward under our new name, we remain deeply committed to advancing the fields of forensic and behavioral health while providing essential education and resources to professionals who work tirelessly to promote justice and protect vulnerable populations.
Why the Name Change?
The name "Justitia Foundation" was carefully chosen to align with our vision. In Roman mythology, Justitia symbolizes justice, fairness, and the ethical application of law. These principles resonate deeply with our work, which centers on equipping behavioral health professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate complex psycho-legal landscapes. While our previous name accurately described our focus on forensic professionals, it did not fully encompass the breadth of our mission to educate and empower all behavioral health and legal professionals who contribute to the pursuit of justice.
Our Expanded Mission and Vision
The Justitia Foundation continues to build on the strong foundation established by the American Association of Forensic Professionals. Our mission has always been to enhance public welfare by providing high-quality education, training, and certification programs. We aim to bridge the gap between the legal and mental health fields, ensuring professionals are well-prepared to address issues such as family conflict, trauma, mental health diagnoses, and ethical dilemmas.
Under the Justitia Foundation, we are broadening our focus to include:
Forensic and Behavioral Health Training: Continuing to offer specialized workshops and certification programs for forensic evaluators, custody evaluators, psychosexual assessment specialists, and more.
Public Awareness Initiatives: Educating the public on the intersection of behavioral health, justice, and ethics to foster a more informed society.
Collaborations and Partnerships: Expanding our work with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions to create innovative programs that address emerging issues in the forensic and behavioral health fields.
What This Means for Our Trainees?
Our rebranding to the Justitia Foundation comes with exciting changes that will directly benefit our members, trainees, and stakeholders:
Enhanced Programs: We are updating and expanding our educational offerings to include new certifications, workshops, and resources tailored to the evolving needs of forensic and behavioral health professionals.
Global Reach: The new name positions us as a forward-thinking organization with a global perspective, making our programs and resources accessible to a broader audience.
Strengthened Identity: The Justitia Foundation name underscores our commitment to justice and ethical practice, providing a clearer representation of our purpose.
Looking Ahead
As we embrace our new identity, we are more determined than ever to make a meaningful impact in the lives of professionals and the communities they serve. The Justitia Foundation will continue to uphold the values of justice, integrity, and innovation while fostering a culture of learning and growth.
We invite you to join us on this journey. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or new to the field, the Justitia Foundation offers opportunities to deepen your expertise, gain valuable certifications, and contribute to the vital work of advancing justice through mental health and forensic practice.
